Super Trooper 05/07/2011

Hi :)

It's been 3 days since our drive home from Vt. and things are going
great! Trooper has done super and seems to have fit right in. He is
very laid back and calm and just wants to be loved. He has a crate
and has even gone in it by himself to take a nap. He was alone for
about 2 hrs the other evening and I left him in the hallway with his
crate with the door open and he did fine. I will do the same when I
go to work, there is a low window that he can look out of. I bought
him several toys before getting him, but as Brian said, he only likes
his rope toy. Thanks Brian for sending that with him.

He has his dog license and I called the microchip company and switched
the contact info to my own. We went to a local conservation area the
other day and walked the trails for about an hour. He found a turtle,
left it alone, and then chased a squirrel. lol. There's a pond there
and he went in far enough to get his paws wet/muddy. I think we'll go
back there today for awhile. Yesterday we went for a walk in the town
and he did great on the leash. At night he sleeps in the bedroom on
his dog bed. He's met some of my family and friends and likes
everyone he sees.

I've attached some pictures, I've been taking a ton of them. Thanks
again for all you do for dogs, and a big thanks to Brian and his wife,
they're very special people and I know it was tough to see Trooper go.
Let them know he's very loved here and is doing fine. :)

Also, I have a collar for him and I would like to send you the Lupine
collar so you can use it for another dog. Please send me the address
so I can mail it back to you.

Thanks again,

Joe & Trooper

Thanks Joe, It's good to know we helped get Trooper to a good place. Nobody warned us our first foster dog would be the perfect dog.

You have no idea how close we came to running away to Canada with him. The only reason we didn't is that, from watching TV, we know that the police never give up when it comes to one of their own. So, with no escape possible, we grudgingly turned him over.
