Adoption Application

Our Process

NNEDR dogs are transported to us by volunteers and placed into foster homes in NH and VT.   NNEDR dogs are seen by a Veterinarian at Veremedy Pet Hospital for a complete exam, spay/ neuter, Heartworm/ Lyme test and vaccinations.

We temperament test and start to work on training and/or any behavior issues while the dog is in foster care. We gather applications from our website, check references and then make the best possible match for a dog and a family.

After the dog is adopted we continue to provide NNEDR adoptive families with training consulting and support. We check in periodically with adopters and maintain an alumni website for people to post updates and pictures of their NNEDR dog.

Adopting a NNEDR Dog

If you are interested in adopting a NNEDR dog please visit our website and complete the adoption application. Please know we really do check Veterinary, personal and landlord references so it is very important for you to provide their names and phone numbers so we can complete your application.

Our adoption fee  is $300 but can vary from dog to dog based on their expenses prior to adoption. Some of those expenses include, boarding, health care, and accommodations of special needs and cost of transport.

We base all adoption decisions on the home we feel will be best for the dog. We do not adopt to people under 21 years of age, and preference is often given to homeowners or people with extended rental history.

We do not have a physical location such as a shelter. We are a network of foster homes. All dog introductions will be made by appointment after your application has been approved. We are a volunteer run organization, with families and full time jobs. Once you submit your application please be patient.

We do our very best to check applications and respond to people as quickly as we can. Often we are very busy and it may take us a few days to respond. Our Petfinder website is updated daily. If you see a dog listed under Adoptable Dogs assume it is available for adoption; if you are interested in learning more about that dog the next step is to complete the application.

For more information about adopting a NNEDR dog please email us.

Check out our
Calendar of Events page to see if we are having any adoption events in your area. Email us to find out if the dog you are interested in will be there.
